Turning Data Into Action: Strategies for Clear Communication

“What data do we have to support this?” is likely one of the most common questions asked across organizations today. Whether you’re the one asking or answering this question, the challenge is the same: ensuring the supporting data are communicated clearly, concisely and convincingly. Easier said than done, right?

The good news is learnable, repeatable frameworks exist to ensure effective data communication. Applying them ensures that you and your stakeholders don’t struggle to make sense of the data and its implications for effective decision-making.

In this session led by Matt Reesor, communications expert and continuing adjunct lecturer at Smith, and Dave Paradi, presentation expert and founder of Think Outside The Slide, you’ll discover strategies to help you plan and execute effective data communication and ensure that your target audience has the information and insights that they need to act.

Participants will:

  • Discover foundational principles of effective data communication
  • Explore how to recognize the diverse data needs of different audiences
  • Gain insights into designing and delivering successful data stories
  • Learn key principles of data visualization
