W. Alec Cram graduated from Queen’s University in 2002 and worked as an IT Audit Manager at Deloitte before returning to complete his MSc (2009) and PhD (2013). He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Alec also serves on the faculty at the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo and was a faculty member at Bentley University from 2013-2019. His research focuses on how information systems governance and control initiatives can contribute to improving the performance of organizational processes.
Bertrand Malsch is the PricewaterhouseCoopers/Tom O'Neill Fellow of Accounting and director of the CPA Ontario Centre for Corporate Governance & Accountability. His research focuses on corporate governance, auditing and professional expertise. His current work focuses on the role of accounting firms in tax avoidance mechanisms and the financial reporting processes of Indigenous communities. Bertrand also serves as a member of the Cannabis Oversight Committee established by the Quebec government.
David J. McConomy, MBA, CPA, CA, has been teaching in the School of Business for nineteen years, following a twenty-five year career in the Technology Industry as Chief Financial Officer of three different, rapidly growing, companies. He has been the Director of the GDA Program at Queen’s ever since its inauguration in 2013. Professor McConomy is also the Smith School of Business liaison with CPA Ontario and CPA Canada.
Joseph Oliverio is a CPA, he graduated from Concordia University. He has been lecturing in the GDA program for over 20 years. He also lectures income tax at Smith School of business (Queen’s University), individual and corporate tax at John Molson School of Business (Concordia University) and Corporate Tax at McGill University. Joseph worked at the Canada Revenue Agency for over 25 years and has been a tax consultant the last 10 years specializing in personal, corporate and trust taxation. He incorporates real life experiences in the class environment from both his work at the CRA and his tax practice.
Erin is based in Kingston, Ontario where she is a CPA, CA and holds a MSc in Management from Smith School of Business (2003). She obtained her Chartered Accountant (CA) designation while with Deloitte's Audit practice in 2000. Erin has published her research on accounting quality and held roles in financial planning & reporting. She taught previously with CA School of Business and University of Regina and currently facilitates with the CPA Professional Education Program as well as teaches at Smith School of Business at Queen's University.
