Erica is an Assistant Professor in the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. She is in the Accounting Area where her teaching focuses on Financial Accounting.
Erica Pimentel's research explores how technological disruption impacts the ways in which auditors engage with their work. She conducts this research using a variety of qualitative approaches, namely interviews and netnography. She is currently working on projects that explores how remote working arrangements and blockchain are impacting audit practices. She is a frequent contributor to the media and has been featured in outlets like the Wall Street Journal, the National Post, the Globe and Mail and many others.
Erica holds a PhD and MBA from Concordia University, an LLM in Tax from York University. She is a CPA and worked in public accounting before entering academia.
