Recognizing Your Generosity
Your generosity has a vital and lasting impact on our students, faculty, and alumni. It enables us to attract the best and brightest students and top-tier faculty, providing them with exceptional experiences. It supports innovative research and its timely dissemination, benefitting the communities in which we all live. It helps us build strong and enduring alumni networks that keep our graduates connected to the latest business news and leaders around the world.
We could not do any of this without your support. That’s why it’s important to us to recognize and thank you for your generosity and trust, and to assure you that we do not take this responsibility lightly. We are grateful for every gift.

We have also created an area on the wall to recognize our exceptional classes in the following categories:
- Graduating Class Gift: Recognizes the graduating classes that gave the largest cumulative gifts between September 1st of their last year until June 30th (post-graduation). This excludes any giving to the Goodes Hall student pledge.
- Student Participation: Recognizes the graduating classes with the highest rate of participation between September 1st of their last year until June 30th (post-graduation). This excludes any giving to the Goodes Hall student pledge.
- Lifetime Participation: Recognizes the classes who have cumulatively given the most to Smith School of Business. This is based on all gifts designated to our school and donations are counted towards the preferred year (unless otherwise requested).
- Class Endowed Funds: Recognizes the three largest endowed class funds based on the capital balance of the account updated April 30th each year.
- Lifetime Giving - First Decade: Recognizes the three classes that raised the most for Smith School of Business in the 10 years following graduation. This counts all gifts and pledges allocated to Smith School of Business.
- Planned Giving: Recognizes the classes who have thoughtfully remembered Smith School of Business through a provision in their will or other future gift arrangement involving life insurance, a trust or registered retirement savings. This plaque displays the class with the highest participation rate in establishing planned gifts.
