Kathryn Morrin

In my role as the Director of External Relations, my aim is to help connect students with other extensions of the Smith community, such as our Alumni, Faculty, and Partners, as well as our local community and other MBA programs across Ontario. I have the distinct privilege of getting to work with incredible professionals, for talented individuals, as well as have a little fun along the way.

I was attracted to this role, as well as the Student Executive Council (SEC) at large, as every job and extracurricular activity I have ever been a part of has required strong communication skills and some form of leadership. Not having had the opportunity to pursue a venture like this in my undergraduate degree and having left the hospitality industry, I felt that this was a great chance to get to work with an accomplished team and a good excuse to socialize with individuals I would otherwise not have the privilege of getting to know.

I am excited to bring my visions to life, through hosting professional panels, working in tandem with other Directors to better connect with the community at large, and help be the bridge connecting my academic peers with their persons of interest. That said, not all efforts are geared towards the existing class, but to those considering both the FTMBA program and Smith as a whole. I hope to develop some interesting engagement tools, working in collaboration with our faculty, to give back to future generations of MBA candidates. Our motto this year - “Pay it forward.”
