My role as Vice-President is to collaborate and support the President. Whether this be managing student relations, providing support for directors, or assisting in event management and direction. I am responsible for ensuring student voices are heard, action is taken, and that follow-up with respective parties occurs.
I wanted to join the SEC because I like being involved in my community and giving back in any way I can. Being a part of the executive council allows me to facilitate conversations with students, tackle stress points, and improve student quality of life while here studying. Being able to help my peers makes me feel accomplished as an individual and drives my continued passion for leadership.
I hope to contribute to the student cohort’s experience this year by building class skills that Smith does not already offer. To me this looks like running workshops for emerging technologies in the workplace, and facilitating more student interactions with professionals who can disseminate essential skills and strategies to our class for the hiring periods.
Throughout this, I hope to be a support for my class as well. I am looking forward to creating more opportunities for student feedback, such as tipboxes, and round-table talks. Through doing so I hope to incorporate more student voices in problem-solving, event creation, and cohort bonding.
