Prior to starting my MBA, I worked in corporate communications for a leading energy solutions provider in British Columbia. In an organization entrenched in the climate change conversation, my daily work involved public relations, media relations (including the role of corporate spokesperson), issues management, crisis communications, branding, education and storytelling.
I'm also grateful to have served three consecutive terms as a board member with the ALS Society of BC, providing strategic counsel to a provincial non-profit ranked among Maclean's "Top 100" list of Canada's best charities. I’ve had to step back from the board to pursue my MBA, but I look forward to rejoining the cause after I complete my program; I hope I can help take on other neurological diseases as well.
Between my work and board experience, I know I can bring a lot to the Student Executive Council. It exists to serve the students, and we’re focused on enhancing the collective MBA experience while inspiring each other and future graduate students. I’m not here to encourage anyone to attend any specific school or program – I’d like to highlight the value of continuous education. Over my time here, I hope to positively influence at least one person, and perhaps leave some sort of fine-point legacy.
And it’s all much easier when you have an absolutely terrific team. So, thank you Sarah, Steph, Nazish, Greg, Robert, Manav and Krishna for making me better.
