I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

of its small class size, which fosters a tight-knit community where everyone has the opportunity to know each other well (they are all smart), and strong bonds can naturally form. The program is built on a culture of teamwork, making collaboration a core part of the experience. Additionally, the one-year length yet intensive structure pushes MBA students to perform at their best while efficiently preparing them for their careers.

If I had given myself advice a year ago as an international student and first-time newcomer to Canada, I would have encouraged myself to immerse more deeply in English-speaking environments and Western culture. Building relationships and networking are daily habits, not occasional events, so I would remind myself to engage actively and embrace every opportunity to communicate.

For prospective applicants, my biggest tip is to be authentic—Smith values your potential. Be confident, speak up, and trust that your unique experiences and perspectives will be recognized.

Through the MBA, I aim to improve my analytical skills and teamwork while deepening my understanding of finance, management, and leadership. Additionally, I want to expand my professional network and gain access to valuable resources that will support my long-term career. Having previously worked in private equity, I aspire to build on this experience and pursue a long-term career in investing or consulting, helping businesses grow and navigate complex market challenges.
