I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

I chose the Smith MBA because of its legacy as one of the most prestigious and oldest business schools in Canada. The adage "a Smith helps a Smith" resonates deeply with me, knowing that Queen's University, established in October 1841, has cultivated an extensive and supportive alumni network. Smith School of Business ranked 1st nationally and 38th globally for the number of graduates employed as CEOs or equivalents in Fortune Global 500 corporations, exemplifies institutional excellence. Smith's renowned standing and proximity to Toronto's financial district offer unparalleled networking opportunities and exposure to fintech trends.

One year ago, I would have advised myself to start preparing for the MBA application process earlier, focusing on crafting a compelling narrative that highlights my unique experiences and aspirations. I would also recommend preparing for technical requirements in advance, such as the GRE/GMAT.

A tip for applicants is to thoroughly research the program and tailor their application to showcase how their background and goals align with what Smith offers. Highlighting specific courses, faculty, or initiatives that appeal to you can demonstrate your genuine interest and fit for the program.

Through the MBA experience, I aim to gain the strategic skills necessary to drive innovation in fintech. My career goal is to attain an executive position in a leading fintech company, where I can leverage my technical expertise and business acumen to lead digital transformation initiatives.
