I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...

leaving a career I loved was a huge decision, and I knew it had to be for the best MBA program—one that offered both academic excellence and transformational growth. For me, that was Smith.

The Smith MBA has an amazing reputation, but for good reason. The curriculum is rigorous and the expectations for performance and professionalism are no exception. Smith’s courses help you develop technical and strategic strengths, while the team-based learning approach will push you to round out your softer skillsets- which are critical in today’s job market. As a physical therapist in public healthcare, I have witnessed the power of effective teams and Smith gives you the exposure, skills, and personalized coaching to be effective no matter where your career takes you! After a decade of clinical and leadership practice, Smith’s one-year intensive program was exactly what I was looking for.

If I could speak to 2024 Lauren, I would advise her to trust the process. Reach out early! The admissions process is personalized and supportive, and they will provide feedback every step of the way. Talk to alumni and students, but most importantly, identify exactly why you are taking this big step and stay steadfast in your belief that you are capable.

While my goal is to secure a meaningful role by 2026, my focus during the MBA is to be present, embrace the experience, and grow alongside my cohort.
