I came to the Smith MBA because I know Queen’s University, having done my undergrad here, and the Smith MBA program carries the Queen’s spirit of community with it. After all my research, it was clear Smith was the best fit for what I wanted to get out of my MBA. Beyond just being the top-ranked program, the structure truly sets Smith apart. The emphasis on learning to work in teams and develop our leadership skills is invaluable to our future careers. There are abundant resources available: seemingly endless coaching, networking events, and all the sessions to build our professional skills. Coming from an engineering background, I love seeing concepts we learn applied in practice, which the Smith MBA does well.

What I want to get out of my MBA is to learn as much as possible about a wide variety of hard and soft skills, and I feel confident that Smith is the perfect place for me to do that. My career goals after the program are to love what I do and empower the people I work with to be their best. For future MBA applicants, think about why you are applying and ground yourself in that. I felt I hadn’t had any inspiring leaders in my career, so I wanted to develop my skills and become one, and I know the Smith MBA will get me there.
