I came to the Full-time MBA at Smith School of Business because ...
I came to the Smith MBA to grow professionally and personally. Smith’s focus on a team-based learning atmosphere appealed to me the most as I felt that it would prepare me for a wide range of experiences in the workplace. Another aspect of the Smith MBA that stood out to me was the student-centric program structure, wherein different coaches would help students get the most out of their journey throughout the year.
If I could go back and give myself one piece of advice, I would tell myself to take life one day at a time and not be too hard on myself. I remember being very stressed at the beginning of 2023 because of the GMAT, the application and the interview process. Now that I look back at it, I only remember the good parts- if there is determination in everything one does, things work out beautifully in the end.
One of the best tips to keep in mind when applying for the Smith FTMBA is to be your true and authentic self. Highlight what sets you apart from the people around you and how you can contribute to the student experience throughout the program. Additionally, focus on how the program will help you enhance your skillset and achieve your goals.
While many might say that their primary aim after an MBA is to get a job in the function or industry of their choice, I feel there is much more to extract from the following year. Although getting a job in marketing functions in the tech/entertainment industry is central to my MBA experience, forming relationships with like-minded individuals and leaving a legacy behind for future students are equally essential.
