Charles Buchanan is the Founder and CEO of Technology Helps, an organization dedicated to eliminating technology poverty among nonprofits and community organizations. As a visionary leader he has a rich background in corporate technology leadership, including roles at Suncor Energy, Oracle, MNP and Deloitte and as an accomplished entrepreneur, he has founded and led numerous technology companies in diverse areas like fintech, online gaming, and environmental protection. He remains a leading expert in the tech industry, offering strategic guidance and delivering tailored technology solutions for organizations of all sizes, from enterprise clients to those in the social good sector.

Charles is a passionate contributor to the community, serving on various non-profits boards and committees, including Calgary Black Chambers (co-founder), The Common Approach to Impact Measurement, Momentum, Black Business and Professional Association, Grant Committee at Calgary Foundation, entrepreneur mentor at Venture Mentors Service of Alberta (VMSA). He is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for Community Service.

He holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and a B.Sc. (Hons) in electrical and computer engineering. Outside of work, he enjoys recharging through golf, hiking the Calgary mountains, and spending quality time with his family.
